Message from the Mayor

Mayor Allan FungOn behalf of the people of the City of Cranston, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate CLCF on its more than 50 years of success in providing positive outlets for the youth of our community. The lessons that the children of Cranston learn from CLCF are not only about athletics, but also about the importance of competition, sportsmanship, and overall physical fitness.

I also want to thank all of the coaches and volunteers who give so much of their time to this organization. Your efforts have provided countless children with a distinct advantage, both socially and athletically, as they move forward into their high school years and beyond.

Allan W. Fung, Mayor

Concussion Awareness

Heads UpWhat is a concussion?

A concussion is a type of traumatic brain injury, or TBI, caused by a bump, blow, or jolt to the head that can change the way your brain normally works. Concussions can also occur from a blow to the body that causes the head to move rapidly back and forth. Concussions can occur in any sport or recreation activity. A concussion can have long term impacts on young athletes such as their health, memory, learning and even their survival. All participants in youth sports - coaches, parents and athletes - should be aware of the signs and dangers a concussion can pose.
