  • CLCF is conducting its youth sports programs in accordance with Rhode Island’s Covid-19 Plan Guidelines and Executive Orders. Most CLCF sports have returned to their normal scheduled offerings. Please contact the chairperson listed in the “Sports” section of this website for up-to-date information about each sport’s current and planned offerings.

  • The CLCF Gym is open in compliance with Rhode Island's Covid-19 guidelines for sports facilities. Those not fully vaccinated must wear masks inside the building and maintain three feet of social distance from others. Leo J. Castiglioni founded CLCF as a youth sports organization in 1953. He remained an active volunteer and member of the Board of Directors for nearly 50 years until his death in 2002. These scholarships are dedicated to the founder of CLCF and were established to celebrate his life and to honor representative Cranston High School graduating seniors who emulate the community service, civic dedication and selflessness of character that was Leo J. Castiglioni Jr. Award Criteria: This Scholarship is available to any Cranston resident graduating from a high school in Rhode Island. Awarded funds may be used for tuition at any post-high school institution or for tools to be used in the trade of the student's choosing. The student must fulfill all of the following criteria in order to qualify. The student must have participated in not less than four (4) calendar years involvement in any Cranston League for Cranston's Future (CLCF) sport/activity or any combination of eight (8) or more sports/activities for at least one (1) full season. The student must be a Cranston resident and graduating high school senior and be successfully working to his/her capacity within an academic program of studies. The student must receive the recommendation of the school's administration: Criteria shall include: Dedication, Spirit, Cooperation in school activities and/or sports participation. Personal Leadership and Good Citizenship with a "positive disciniplary record". Positive athletic and non-athletic behavior/sportmanship. Demonstrated growth as a person and an effort to succeed. Community Service: the student has participated in some program as a volunteer helping to improve the quality of the community. Special consideration will be given to participation in youth sports (especially CLCF) as a coach, assistant coach, manager, official/referee, etc., etc. The community service may be non-school related. The student must not have been financially compensated. Priority for the selection of recipients will be as follows: One award each from Cranston HS East, Cranston HS West and the NEL/CPS Charter School from among qualifying applicants. One award to a Cranston resident graduating from a non-Cranston high school. Remaining awards will be distributed to students graduating from any high school that scored highest according to the Committee's evaluation. Forms: Instructions for Students
